I'm usually very proud to be a Californian. But the fact that Proposition 8 passed in one of the country's most liberal states, does not bode well for the country as a whole. I feel really sorry for my gay brothers and sisters. It doesn't make sense. And isn't fair. Here's a quote I found today.
"There's something deeply wrong with putting the rights of a minority up to a majority vote," said Evan Wolfson, a gay-rights lawyer who heads a group called Freedom to Marry. "If this were being done to almost any other minority, people would see how un-American this is."
When will we learn that difference doesn't have to divide us?
